History & Condition
Black cloth w/cherry sides, 5.6′ tall x 19″ wide x 2″ deep. Originally purchased in CA in 2009, they remain in showroom condition. Powered via a Bryston 3B ST, covering a wide range of music and some HT. Never driven hard, NEVER clipped. Always kept in a conditioned space, panels play flawlessly.
Also included: Sound Anchor stands, http://soundanchors.com/products/2076/mg-16-17 ($340 retail)
Remember, Magnepan speakers are power hungry. At the bare minimum, I strongly recommended an amp capable of 100w at 8 ohm or better per channel. These panels run at 4ohms, and sound exponentially better with a fast, brawny source.
If you are local (WA Puget Sound) I’m happy to audition them for you (in my home), and am willing to deliver within 50 miles of Lynwood, WA for $60. I have the original box and manual printed from Magnepan’s website.
Local pickup is strongly preferred, but I can ship. I have the original box and will build a crate if shipping via domestic carrier. Approximate crate dimensions will be 6’6″ x 24″ x 8″, costs are $99 (crate + transport to terminal) PLUS actual carrier fees. And don’t forget insurance!
For a cross country example: Using a dedicated carrier (Old Dominion Freight Line), with a weight of 100lb and a Class of 92, shipping from Lynnwood WA to Richmond VA is $447. Old Dominion is the company Magnepan uses to ship in the US. Obviously depending on your location, the service you choose, and whether you pickup at a terminal or arrange residential delivery, the costs can vary greatly. FedEx or UPS may be “cheaper, but both have a much poorer reputation when it comes to delivering Magnepans undamaged. Being in a wooden shipping crate will help however.
